As the Serpent Crawls In On Its Underbelly...

"Sometimes we have snakes slithering through the streets of New York." - ANTHONY WEINER, U.S. Congressman, on MAHMOUD AHMADINEJAD, President of Iran.

Yesterday, "the Evil Has Landed" (to quote a New York Daily News headline), and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad took his proverbial political traveling salvation show -- or should I more apporpriately say his freak show to New York City, where he got what he deserved before a jeering audience at Columbia University. It was there that Columbia's president, Lee Bollinger pulled no punches in calling him a "petty and cruel dictator" and said his Holocaust denials suggested he was either "brazenly provocative or astonishingly uneducated." To loud audience applause, Bollinger went on to add, "I feel the weight of the modern civilized world yearning to express the revulsion at what you stand for."

In responding to a question about the recent executions of two gay Iranian men in his home country, Ahmadinejad responded, "In Iran we don't have homosexuals like in your country," He went on to add, "In Iran we do not have this phenomenon, I do not know who has told you we have it."

Nothing like freedom of speech and sunlight to expose a petty tyrant for who he really is.

While we're at it, how about forcing him and David Duke into a shotgun wedding north of the border? After all, birds of a feather fornificate together....
